A note from Juan Hierro, founder of Tecoss Europe Ltd
Since founding Tecoss S.L. in 1999, my work has been shaped by a simple conviction: progress happens when ideas, talent, and innovation move across borders. After more than twenty-seven years of working in international environments, that belief remains at the heart of everything I do. With the creation of Tecoss Europe Ltd in London, we now open a new chapter with European Roots — American Greatness, our flagship initiative for the 250th Anniversary of American Independence.
This project honours a truth often overlooked: Europe's engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and thinkers played a decisive role in building the modern United States. Through research-driven storytelling, curated directories, and institutional partnerships, we aim to present this shared legacy with accuracy, dignity, and historical depth.
As founder, my mission is to ensure this anniversary is marked with substance and respect. I invite partners, organisations, and readers to join us in celebrating the enduring bond between Europe and America.

America250-Independence.com follows a structured editorial plan that guides all content published on the platform. Our work highlights the European contributions that helped shape American innovation, culture, and industry over the past 250 years. Our Historical Methodology: The 58 Companies
America250-Independence.com presents a permanently curated list of 58 U.S. multinational companies founded by:
- first-generation European immigrants, or
- second-generation Americans whose parents were European immigrants.
This methodology is strict, historical, and non-negotiable. It ensures that only companies with a direct and verifiable European founding origin are included.
Companies founded by third-generation Americans are not included, as by that generation the founders are fully American and no longer part of the European immigrant wave.
This list is fixed and unchangeable. It exists to commemorate the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and to highlight Europe's foundational contribution to the creation of modern American industry.
